Kadim has been a roaring beast the past days guarding his fresh elk bones. Salli is kept safely on the other side of the fence, but still she barely dares to move about the yard. Kadim lets her know in no uncertain terms that she's not even to look at HIS bones.

I don't know the origins of this, but it describes my current and late Anatolians so well:

Dog Property Laws

1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If it's in my mouth, it's mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
5. If it's mine, it must never appear to be yours in anyway.
6. If I'm chewing something up, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it just looks like mine, it's mine.
8. If I saw it first, it's mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it's broken, it's yours.

Is mom trying to sneak at my bone - better give her "the eye" as well...

Salli enjoying her bone on a safe distance from Kadim.

  • LOL, yep, those are the rules. :)

BTW, Kadim is MINE when he's done with that bone. heehee

  • No, no, no - those rules apply to me 100%.

    Rule number 1

Kadim is mine, all mine - precious - and must never appear to be yours in any way! :)
